Chris is the Executive Director, Property Services at RMIT University. He is responsible for leading the team providing and maintaining quality and sustainable built environments to support all of the University’s activities. Within Property Services he provides strategic direction for key University departments including Real Estate and Business Services, Planning and Asset Utilisation, Capital Works and Facilities and Asset Management and Risk Reporting and Compliance.
Over the past twenty years, Chris has developed strong operational and strategic planning capabilities, formed through his experience in managing a number of significant assets in property and construction. He is an experienced property professional having managed numerous high profile portfolios owned directly or serviced for clients and has considerable expertise in overseeing large teams of professionals within finance, procurement, property, construction and facilities services.
Prior to his role at RMIT University, he held a range of key leadership roles at Spotless Group Limited, including General Manager, Business Development Public Private Partnerships Australia and New Zealand, and General Manager, Corporate Development (Global). He has also worked in leadership roles for UGL, Mayne Group Limited and Knight Frank.
Over time he has developed strong engagement capacities with his staff and multiple stakeholder groups, and places an emphasis on ensuring that outcomes are achieved for clients in a timely and productive manner. He is accomplished in applying commercial judgement and driving agreed key performance outcomes.
Chris has a Bachelor of Business (Property) from RMIT University, a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management from Monash University, and a Master of Business Administration from The University of Western Australia.
He is the past Director of the Principals for Social Investment, a United Nation Secretariat. Chris was appointed to the TEFMA Board as Director in September 2016
